SWIFT REMITANCE
The modern
mode of transferring money instantaneously. Our SWIFT code for remittance to
Fiji is (BARBFJFJ).
We can transfer money to any country depending
upon the customers requirement.
The remittance is sent by wire transfer which means that we send the
financial message electronically to our overseas branches as well as our correspondent
banks using SWIFT.

Sending money to Fiji – from overseas : If the customer is
traveling or living abroad and needs to send money back to Fiji he can
do so at most banks. The customer needs the following:
a) Bank
account details of the beneficiary, including bank name and branch, account
name and number
b) Bank
of Baroda's SWIFT identification, which is BARBFJFJ (this ensures the
payment arrives with minimum delay)
Receiving money from overseas : If the customer is expecting
money from overseas, it may be recommend to the customer to have the funds transferred
electronically, direct to his Bank of Baroda Bank account. The customer can
arrange this by providing his bank account details to the
sender.
BANKER'S CHEQUES (BC)
- Issued by the Bank to customers for making
local payments (i.e., Whenever the customer desires to make the payment for
any purchases, payment of telephone / electricity bills, payments to other
accounts in other banks etc.)
- Banker's Cheques are negotiable instruments
payable to order and attract all provisions applicable to an order cheque
and are valid for six months from the date of issue and in genuine cases may
be revalidated.
DEMAND DRAFTS (DD)
- The most common mode of funds transfer - the
Demand Draft system is paper based.
- A DD is a negotiable instrument and is made
payable to order of the beneficiary.
- The DD is valid for six months from the date
of issue and in genuine cases may be revalidated (only once not more than
one year from the date of issue).
- The draft issued by the Bank is equivalent
to its promissory note.
MAIL TRANSFERS (MT)
- Mail Transfers (MTs) are issued by any branch
of our Bank for transfer of funds between branches through the medium of post
offices either for credit of an accountholder or for payment to a certain
beneficiary.
- The mail transfer is sent by the issuing branch
directly to the drawee branch on the same day by Post.
TELEGRAPHIC TRANSFERS (TT)
- Telegraphic Transfers (TTs) are effected for
expedious (either on the same day or on the next day) transfer of funds between
almost all our major branches for credit or payment to a beneficiary by Telegram
/ SWIFT / Fax.
- Telegraphic Transfer messages conveying transfer
of funds by fax can be considered for valuable clients (conditions apply).
TRAVELLER'S CHEQUES (TC)
- Traveller’s Cheques are issued in currency
of USD, AUD, NZD, CAD, GBP.
- TCs are available in denomination of 20, 50,
100 in currencies as above at all branches ( 500 denomination available in
USD) .
- Traveller's Cheques are issued to any Individual
and the purchaser has to sign on each Traveller's Cheques at the space provided
for in presence of Branch officials at the time of purchase.
- The Traveller's Cheques have unrestricted validity
period.
- At the time of encashment, purchaser is required
to countersign each Traveller's Cheques in the presence of Branch Officials
at the space provided. Identification of the purchaser is not insisted by
the Bank and payment is made once the signature agree with the one already
appearing on the cheque.
